wow what weather we have had in the charente - 25c in the garden mid february and thegrass growing so fast we had to mow it ( in shorts)

Every year guests come to stray with us for the Festival de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême in january. We are only 20km away from angouleme

I love winter here. With macrons crazy fuel prices we are using the wood burners full steam ahead - they give a great heat

I love winter - the time of log fires , snuggling up in jumpers, winter stews and soups. Madeleine is an amazing cook so we have great food

So a week or so on and 'gingerus' is doing really well - he/she is obviously a fashion bird as you have to be at our chambres d'hotes here

The ginger chick has recovered really well and is walking around quite happily we are taking him/her in at night to keep warm and bananas

I opened up the chickens today and one of our 2 babies who are about 5 weeks old had hurt its leg and kept falling over.

Back in the UK I hated going to the gym - boring pointless on machines watching MTV. I never got to the endorphin levels

Well no complaints about living in France from us. Just South of Angouleme as we are and about 40 minutes from Cognac in the Charente

Today was a rainy Sunday which put paid to our favourite monthly brocante here in the Charente near the Dordogne border. Its only about 20 m

With the sad passing of Gingerman we were surprised by the arrival of 3 new gorgeous golden chicks from one of our sussex hens Jingle.
