What do on your french holiday in 2020

Every year we get client asking us what things to do when they come to France for their holiday. We can give you great ideas and help you decide where to go.

One of the joys of our location in the middle of France is the ease with which you can reach so many interesting destinations by road, rail or air.

We have Angouleme on our doorstep with its super fast TGV connection to Paris if you want high cuture and the worlds best restaurants - an easy day trip for you to enjoy.

Fancy Bordeaux with its great city life, history, restaurants and club life? 30 minutes by train from Angouleme and a fabulous day out.

A dip in the sea , snooze on the beach followed by a plats de fruits de mer in the harbour? 90 minutes by car to Ile de Re, Arcachon or la Rochelle.

Wine country and vineyards more your thing? 40 minutes by car to Cognac for a brandy tasting or a trip down to Bergerac or St Emilion to check out the smaller family vineyards.

Southern beauty and historical architecture? Aix en Provence by train from Angouleme. Wonderful markets, incredible history and wonderful weather.

Brocante markets in the Charente or Dordogne?

There are many brocantes and vide greniers every weekend in Spring and Summer to choose from. Some are mostly professional sellers while others are local people selling their bits & you can find some amazing things if you are careful. We can also help you arrange to ship items if you find lots of great things whether to the UK or further afield. We also have great connections with professional brocanteurs if you are looking for specific things.

Nature ? Well its everywhere so just choose your preference - rivers, rolling fields, vineyards, rambling chestnut forests, lakes and pastures, Oak groves and so much more. Biking is big here so there are miles and mile of bike paths and its a very popular past time.

Of course the architecture changes too depending on where you are in the Loire, Vendoire, Limousin, Charente, Dordogne or further south. All are only a few hours drive from us and make a great day out.

So if you stay at the private suite at Montaurand for 7 days, you can have a truly different experience every single day.
