Hot Hot Hot Summer of brocantes in france

Updated: Oct 24, 2019

We have been basking in the heat at Montaurand chambres d'hotes - the Charente and Dordogne handle the heat well and the architecture is built to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

While global warming is going to make the weather very unpredictable, hotter summers here near angouleme and cognac are no bad thing.

Lazy days, outdoor dining, shady places to rest and beautiful villages to visit.

There are also a variety of 'etanges' or manmade swimming lakes to visit and we are only about 2 hours drive from the seaside by arcachon, la rochelle and other pretty villages for a swim and sea food lunch.

The brocante season is in full swing and we have found some amazing pieces at hiersac, brantome, verteillac and other brocantes. Looking forward to the big brantome professional brocante in august too.
