We found this amazing piece of art at the verteillac brocante and it now adorns the main staircase at Montaurand here in the Charente.
It is a numbered cast made from an original Ancient Greek scultpure that now lives in the Louvre Museum and is an official Louvre limited edition cast. It is in great condition with the numbered seal on the back and is surprisingly heavy.
Its amazing - it has a real sense of movement and life to it and it goes perfectly with the Charentaise chalk blocks that our maison de maitre is built from.
Its harder to find good things at brocantes now and there is a lot of rubbish to sort through but with patience you can come up with finds like this!
